Homemade Horror: ’80s Style Fan-Made Top Trumps, Books, & Action Figures

People love harking on about the good old days, when things were ‘so much better,’ or if nothing else slightly more innocent than today. Now I am as guilty as anyone of this, my life mostly revolving around the entertainment of my youth, be it retro games, comics or movies. I love modern entertainment as much as the next person, but ’80s media is where I really get my freak on! And it would seem that I’m not alone in my desire to celebrate the things from my youth, as a series of creators have made their own products which all incorporate an 80s theme to them.

Here’s Chucky! Child’s Play Star Invades the Horror Genre!

Curse of Chucky slashed its way onto DVD shelves last week, and as part of a very clever advertising campaign we now have the chance to see how Chucky would react if he got caught up in other horror movies. Below are the four videos so far that Chucky has invaded, and they are fantastic little shorts. Modern horror like The Purge comes under fire from the tiny ginger killer, but horror classics like Psycho aren’t safe either. You can guess what type of problems ensues after this.

VHS Vault Christmas Special! Deck the Halls with Covers of Terror

For some Christmas is a time to be jolly, for others a time for religious celebration and for others it means nothing at all. But for a very small few, it means a heck of a lot of cheesy horror movies. I am one of those few and proud of it. Christmas horror films seem to have come about with the 1974 horror classic Black Christmas and has been a staple of the movie genre ever since. I want to share some VHS delights with you, maybe you can put some of these into your stockings. Be warned some of these films are so silly they will make your nose go red like Rudolph. Here are my favorite VHS Christmas horror covers.
