The MIB duo of Agent Jay and Agent Kay are back in action. When the world is threatened by an evil alien, Agent Jay travels back in time to 1969, where he teams up with the younger Agent Kay to stop an evil villain named Boris from destroying the world in the future.
One of the last films completed under the old MGM leadership (the other being Red Dawn, and both starring Thor) the release of this movie had been delayed several times, originally slated for wide release on February 5, 2010 – it has now been announced that it will come out April (Friday) the 13th, 2012. And let me just say – it’s about fricking time.
Originally created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, John Carter is a character with a long and rich history dating back to 1911. First premiering in A Princess of Mars, John Carter served as a Confederate captain in the Civil War, before dying and being transported by ‘astral projection’ into an exact duplicate of his body on Mars, where he lived a life full of adventure, love, and war.

The Barsoom Series featured 11 books in which John Carter was either a major or supporting character. He’s been referenced in a number of sci-fi epics and influenced tons of authors in his century long history. So basically that means his movie trilogy potential is there.
For a movie that is allegedly a prequel to the mega popular and for the most part amazing Alien saga, the amount of news we’ve seen is scarce. Compared to the daily updates from movies like The Dark Knight Rises, its surprising that Prometheus has largely stayed off the radar, with the exception of a few pieces of news here and there.
For those of you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, Prometheus started its life as the next installment in the Alien saga, but it grew in the development stage into its very own movie. While still maintaining close ties to the Alien world, it turned into… well… we don’t really know yet. An origin story that needed an origin story, basically. And it all started because of this guy.
Two years before present-time in the thriller, Jill was kidnapped and thrown down a hole to die. In that hole, she saw other human remains. She somehow escaped, only to experience her sister being kidnapped two years after her attack. Now, Jill must find her captor, as she assumes he also took her sister.

The newest trailer for The Hunger Games is out and thank God it’s not another spinning acid trip in the woods. For a while there I thought I was watching daytime outtakes from The Blair Witch Project. With slightly less snot.
I will say from the top that I like the trailer. It encapsulates the character of Katniss quite well, and I am more than pleased with Jennifer Lawrence in the role with what I’ve seen so far. That and Donald Sutherland is basically a badass, so you know he’ll be awesome. I can make my peace with Lenny Kravitz, I really can. I’m sure he had the best acting coaches money could buy that auto-tuned his on-screen performance. I’m sure he knows some guitar hypnosis voodoo to get what he wants.
I really have a hard time making my peace with Woody Harrelson because of what an obscenely awful actor he is. He wasn’t exhibited much in the trailer, but I think this role should be a cinch for him. He’s like Keanu Reeves. Keanu has solid performances when he plays someone who has no clue what’s going on; because Keanu has no clue what’s going on. In this film, Woody portrays a crazy drunk who tends to lash out in a violent rage. Three shots of Tequila and he just has to read the script.

I have high hopes for this film because I did thoroughly enjoy the book. There is a wide margin of screw-up possibility, as in any book to film adaptation. However, being that this was the only book in the trilogy that was actually worth reading, I’m excited to see it. This new trailer really gave us a glimpse into Katniss’ life before and leading up to the games; her bravery in volunteering to die to save her sister’s life, her friendship with her fellow tribute, Peeta. It felt inspiring. Hopefully the film lives up to the hype.
