One of the perennial classics of my childhood, a movie I’ve seen over a hundred times and continue to enjoy, is Ghostbusters. For those uncultured enough to who have never seen this opus, it chronicles the misadventures of four men who set out to make a living off the dead. More accurately, removing the dead from places they are unwanted. This group of hero entrepreneurs consists of 3 scientists, and a 4th, oft-forgotten member with no real background in science, but who offers a touch of faith. These 4 men (or 3 white dudes if you look at any poster for the film) embark on a marathon session cleaning up New York and ridding it of paranormal activity.

Bored to Death – Season 3, Episode 2: “Gumball!” Review
Ok, so this is a little later than promised, but hey – I’m a busy (Arkham City) guy. Anyhow, when we last left our hero, he was hanging from the face of a clock and his bearded best friend was rushing to his rescue…well not straight away.
After a solid hour on the clock face Jonathan’s savior – Ray – finally shows up in a post bedroom state. Under the guise of a safety inspector, Ray fanagles his way into the apartment under the clock and is able to save our detective from certain doom.
It’s Ray’s earlier (perceived) successes with as a dad the give him to confidence to save Jonathan. And he that isn’t my interpretation, Ray actually screams “I’m a father now!” to convince Jonathan to drop down. And it works.
After this they flee to George’s apartment to hide out. And sleep.
In the morning the coppers show up at George’s place, which means Ray and Jonathan must escape out the dumb-waiter. From here they find themselves on the street and accused of murder.

#12 – Countdown to Halloween: SLEEPAWAY CAMP
The 1980s aren’t exactly what you would call a ‘Golden Era’ in Horror Cinema. In fact, it wouldn’t be totally unfair to call it the decade that killed entire genre’s reputation. The 1970s gave us some of the scariest films ever made. Then the 80s followed, filled with cheaply made films and unimaginative sequels fueled by a new Direct-to-Video market that made said movies profitable. Few movies exemplify this formula better than Sleepaway Camp.

Justified Season 3 – Another Cast Addition: Carla Gugino
One of the best shows on TV, which is aired on my favorite station, has just made yet another smart move. They added Carla Gugino. Gugino, for those who can’t place the name right away, was Marv’s hot parole officer ‘Lucille’ in Sin City with the awesomely naked rack. Boom.

In Season 3 of the acclaimed drama, Gugino will playa Washington, D.C.-based assistant director of the U.S. Marshals Service who used to work with Raglan back in Miami — and as such shares a history with our favorite trigger-happy lawman.
Gugino’s character, who is described as “tough, smart and funny,” comes to Kentucky to help safeguard hidden witnesses who have become vulnerable after the murder of a U.S. Marshal.
And as already pointed out over at Warming Glow, this will not be the first time Gugino and Olyphant will team up, as they were both in the movie Elektra Luxx…
I love move, Gugino is super underrated and the show runners will be sure to use her effectively. It’s becoming clear that people are stating to take notice of what a great 2nd season they had and good actors want to be involved now.
Fans should be excited about this.
