Return of the Super Assholes: Umbrella Academy and The Boys Drop New Trailers

The clihéd stereotypes about superheroes on screen, which were mostly established by the 1960’s Batman series and the Superman movies of the 1970s and 80s, are still often lampooned, but seldom actually used. Above Suspicion: Emilia Clarke Stars In True-Crime Thriller

The Game of Thrones actress stars in the new film based on Joe Sharkey’s 1993 non-fiction book of the same name, which came from a true story. Now, Australia’s Madman Films has debuted the official international trailer for the new true-crime thriller Above Suspicion, the latest film from the director Phillip Noyce.

Clarke stars as Susan Smith, an impoverished woman, who is living in an Appalachian mountain town in Kentucky. She agrees to be a police informant to make some extra cash, providing information on a local bank robber. When she is matched-up with FBI agent Mark Putnam (Boardwalk Empire‘s Jack Huston), the two become romantically involved. She sees in him her means of escape; instead, it is a ticket to disaster for both of them. This scandal shook the foundations of the nation’s top law enforcement agency, ending in the first-ever conviction of an FBI agent for murder.

David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills was due out later this fall but due to the pandemic, and constant shifting of most movie productions, the film has suffered a fate we were hoping wouldn’t come true.

In a joint statement from David Gordon Green and John Carpenter, the team behind Halloween Kills confirmed that the film will unfortunately have to be postponed by a whole year. Now being released on October 15, 2021. The creators promise that this is to ensure the largest amount of people can enjoy the film together and even go as far to fulfill an IMAX presentation of the new slasher film. It was an inevitability as the pandemic continues to increase in several hot spots around the world, while other places adapt to new social and physical norms and safety measures. It was the right move but it still stings for horror fans.
