Kodak Making a Comeback With Help From A-List Directors

Kodak rang in the New Year with some promising news. Thanks to movies like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Hateful Eight, film, and I mean real 70mm film, has begun to make its comeback.

For those of you unaware, big name directors banded together back in 2013 to re-amp the dying medium, promising to buy Kodak film; and thankfully it looks like it’s working as the CEO of Kodak, the only remaining motion picture film manufacturer, says the company will actually turn a profit in this new year. After going from losing $100 million a year in the film division, to breaking even the last 3 quarters of 2015, things are really starting to look up for Kodak.

Now, love him or hate him, Quentin Tarantino was loud and proud about using film in his latest movie The Hateful Eight. He even made an in-depth video that screened at Comic-con, explaining how important the film itself is. Check it out here.

Back in 2011 rumors surfaced that a new version of the show was being shopped around, and they would be ditching the anthology format. That wasn’t really what we wanted, but if it meant the return of Tales From The Crypt, we’d of taken it. Alas, that fell through.

Now it would seem the show is on track to finally return, this time keeping the anthology concept as part of a new two-hour horror block on TNT. The part that seems to have people worried however, is the name attached to the project – M. Night Shyamalan.

Ben Mendelsohn Joins the Cast of Ready Player One

We haven’t heard too much about the adaptation of Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One following the news that Steven Spielberg would be directing the film. On the heels of that announcement we learned Spielberg was hoping to pull Gene Wilder out of retirement for a specific role, but nothing really solidified there.

Now we have word that Ben Mendelsohn has joined the cast as the villainous Nolan Sorrento. Mendelsohn has been impressing lately with roles in The Dark Knight Rises,  Mississipi Grind, his excellent turn on Netflix’s Bloodline, and a role in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Tale.
