SDCC 2013 is getting started down in beautiful California, and Sony is already taking the lead with a brand new teaser for The Amazing Spider-Man 2! This is the first official teaser, and it’s setting up further reveals to come from Hall H on Friday when Sony hosts the panel for the Marc Webb directed sequel.
Why am I still talking? Let’s take a look and a listen as we hear Jamie Foxx speaking as Electro for the first time!
While we wait for the start of Comic-Con this year, there is no shortage of rumors and possible leaked news circulating around the web. Most of this stuff will be expanded upon further at some of the panels at SDCC, but we can take a look at some of the released info now to prepare for the actual news we are sure to see this weekend. So lets get started, and take a look at some recently leaked/revealed plot details from X-Men: Days of Future Past.
While the highly anticipated 4th season of Game of Thrones is still a ways out, the filming has already begun and new casting news is abound. Aside from that, we also have some other fun stuff, but let’s start with the news…
One of the most recognizable and loved comic strips in the history of comic strips, Calvin & Hobbes is the story of a boy, his tiger, and an unbridled imagination. We are big fans of both Calvin & Hobbes here at Grizzly Bomb, so when we first heard of a documentary in the works exploring this monumental strip, we were pretty excited. Now, thanks to the magic of Kickstarter, Dear Mr. Watterson has been finished, and we have a trailer:
It needs to be said, Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner make the rest of us involved in the institution of marriage look like schlubs. Here they are, teaming up together to put forth great comic books and you know the most successful thing my husband and I have accomplished lately? We picked out a movie to watch together that we both didn’t hate. That’s it. Go us.
Palmiotti and Conner however? They are co-writing a new solo Harley Quinn title later this year. Since the launch of the New 52, Harley has been content to stick with the Suicide Squad, but now it’s time for her to shine once again with a solo adventure. This is great news for comic fans, as the duo have done great work together, including one of my favorite books in recent years, Power Girl: A New Beginning. Granted that was with Justin Grey as a co-writer, but you have to imagine the humor and fun found in that Power Girl series will carry over to a character who, at times, is filled with glee like Harley Quinn.
[box_light]Palmiotti: Harley is a complex character and we are going to build on her background, motivations and her home and supporting cast. Sort of what we did with Power Girl but with a mix of a bit more homicidal maniac added in.
Conner:Like Jimmy always says; A villain almost never believes that they are the bad guy. They usually think that they’re doing something for the greater good, or that they’re downtrodden and trying to overcome their repressors, or more than likely, they just want something.
Palmiotti: Amanda has a great gift of creating costumes that you can actually wear in real life. A lot of designs these days are so over the top, they just aren’t realistic on any level for a character to fight or even sit on the toilet with them.
Conner:We want to put her in a new surroundings, with new people, and see how she behaves in that environment. Is she going to try to keep it together, or is she just going to cut loose and introduce her new world to the Harley brand of crazy?[/box_light]
