Mortal Kombat: Legacy – Episodes 1-4

If you didn’t see the awesome short Mortal Kombat: Rebirth then I suggest you go and check that out here first. It was directed by Kevin Tacharoen, and was his attempt to show the movie studios just what he could do with the MK franchise. And it was amazing. It was a realistic look at the world of Mortal Kombat with some stars thrown in for good measure. Michael Jai White played Jackson Briggs (Jax) and Jeri Ryan played Sonya Blade. Well, it definitely got noticed, with over 10 million views in one month, and it left most fans of the franchise wondering where the series was going to go next.

Then Mortal Kombat: Legacy was announced. A 10 part web series from the makers of Rebirth featuring the same cast plus lots more. So naturally fans rejoiced. So far there have been 4 episodes released, so I’ll post them here for your viewing pleasure, and as each one comes out we’ll keep you up to date.

Most are around 10 minutes long, and feature a look at the beginning of most of our favorite characters, with an expanded look at the huge universe of Mortal Kombat.

Marvel Comics: Ultimate Universe Reborn…Again!

Fans of Marvel’s Ultimate line will in no way be surprised to hear that once again, a new creative team will be taking the reins of the line and completely changing the status quo. It happened before when Jeph Loeb took over and brought about the insane Ultimatum series, which had wide sweeping effects across the whole universe. Basically, every character you really liked ended up dying horribly tragic deaths.

So we were then given Ultimate Comics, a fresh take on what was left of the Ultimates Universe, but it was bogged down with poor shipping schedules and unconnected storylines. So now it has been announced that the new creators Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer are coming in to turn the Ultimate U. into a more cohesive involved universe, promising at least monthly shipping and another batch of wide sweeping chances to kick off after the “Death of Spider-Man” storyline currently running in Brian Michael BendisUltimate Spider-Man.

Over the last week they have revealed 4 books that will be released under the new Ultimate Comics Reborn initiative, so keep reading to see if your favorites make the cut.

Gone Too Soon: Reaper

2007-20092 Seasons of hilarity, action, bro-hood, romance, and the Devil…

We are here today to remember some of our favorite television shows that were taken from us long before they were ready to go. At least, long before I was ready to let them go.

And unfortunately, that seems to be the case with most of our favorite TV shows these days. It’s rare to be given a second season, let alone continue on an epic run. So this new segment is here to remember some of the shows that may be forgotten. We might even remember some movies, video games, comics… anything that was Gone Too Soon

Today I am going to talk about Reaper, a show that aired on the CW from 09/25/07 to 05/26/09. It was created by Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, and was known for having its pilot episode directed by filmmaker Kevin Smith.

DC Movie Updates: Green Lantern, The Dark Knight Rises, & Superman: Man of Steel

With so much news to talk about lately, we decided to split the updates up, so if you missed the Marvel Avengers edition you can click here. Still a lot of Marvel to cover, but I think it’s time to talk about some upcoming DC movies. Let’s get this started.

Starting off the Trinity of DC movies hitting us soon is Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Mark Strong as SinestroBlake Lively as Carol Ferris, and Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond.

Now I think it’s safe to say a lot of people were impressed when we saw the 5 minute WonderCon footage earlier this year. Over at Newsarama they have an interesting read on why they believe this footage rocked fandom.

Next we’ll take a look at the latest TV Spot which doesn’t show a whole lot of footage, but is still pretty effective, as well as being quite revealing regarding story and potential SPOILERS:

They show a whole lot of Parallax is what I’m saying. And now we move on to the picture portion of our program. No joke, get ready for posters, and lots of them.

From SuperHeroHype we get a look at Hal’s CG costume in great detail:
