THIS IS NOT the “Dredd 3D” Review…

So when the time came for us to review the new Dredd 3D I was like sure, why not? I’ve heard things about the movie, the character and the actors. I’ve seen posters and trailers that showed some footage and a couple of pictures. All good stuff. So I made plans to go out and see it opening night with some friends. Yes, by friends I meant snacks. Anyways, imagine my surprise when I was in the video store, (yes, there are a few still alive) and I saw that they had somehow gotten an exclusive release of Dredd, on VHS no less! So I picked up some friends… sorry, snacks… and headed home to watch it. I gotta say, I don’t know what all the hype was about.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ Set Photos & Rumor Report

With the announcement from CCI about Marvel’s Phase 2 of movies, the Thor sequel was kind of left in the dust behind some of the more enticing movies Marvel was planning. Captain America dropped the Winter Soldier bomb, along with the announcements of Ant Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy, so it’s pretty easy for Thor to get left behind.

What we don’t know is what the title references, general story ideas, or anything else really. Sure there is a lot of speculation out there, but the only concrete thing we know right now is that they are currently filming in Bourne Wood, England and have started constructing some sets.

Batman Before Batman: Bob Kane’s Inspiration – The 1930 Mystery Film “The Bat Whispers”

Batman is a character that has survived in the hearts of fans for decades. More importantly he’s survived as the star of a comic magazine, being one of the few characters to be consistently published since his first appearance in 1939. Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger as a companion character to mirror the success of the recently created Superman, Bats has had a lasting impression on the world around him. But where did he come from? The groundwork for Batman is clear if you are looking for it, and the creators were never shy about listing their inspiration for the character.

So let’s take a look at the story behind the Bat. The inspiration that led to a fan favorite here at Grizzly Bomb, and across the world. While there are definitely famous inspirations from other media like Zorro and Sherlock Holmes, I want to start with one of Bob Kane’s early inspirations; The Bat Whispers.
