8 Characters Benicio del Toro Could Play in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Marvel Studios upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy keeps on casting some big names that keeps us talking and speculating. Last time we discussed James Gunn’s GotG we learned that Glenn Close would be playing a leading member of the Nova Corps along with a rumor that John C. Reilly was up for a role as well. Today we have another piece of news that set some tongues wagging.

Marvel’s ‘Avengers Assemble’ Actually Isn’t Terrible… But It’s Still Too Early To Call

I have been more than vocal over my displeasure the animated direction Marvel has taken recently. This was mainly due to the less than stellar first season of the Ultimate Spider-Man and the cancellation of two of the best animated series from Marvel in years. When we first spoke about the trailer for Avengers Assemble, I was left feeling unimpressed and a little bitter.

But I am a passionate fan of comics and cartoons, and especially cartoons about comics, so I tuned in to the hour long premiere of Avengers Assemble despite my misgivings. As the series starts the Avengers are disbanded, and the Red Skull and MODOK are up to no good. The team is forced to reform under the leadership of Iron Man after Captain America falls to the Skull, and we are introduced to the new team of heroes.

‘Days of Future Past’ Casts Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Possibly Sparking a War Between Fox and Marvel?

In some surprising casting news, Bryan Singer has announced that Evan Peters has been cast as Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past. If the name Quicksilver seems familiar from recent news, it’s because his inclusion in The Avengers 2 was recently confirmed by Joss Whedon. Singer revealed his news on Twitter, as he has grown quite accustomed to lately, revealing looks at Halle Berry As Storm, makeup for both Nicholous Hoult as Beast and Jennifer Lawrence As Mystique, Peter Dinklage’s first day on set, and pretty much every other piece of news we’ve seen over the last few months. Below is the edited tweet:

DisneyXD Drops Trailer For ‘Avengers Assemble’ and a Promo For ‘Hulk: Agents of SMASH’, Continues to Unimpress

There was definitely some vocal outcry after Marvel cancelled a couple of it’s best animated series to date in order to bring the series under the Disney banner. These cancelled series, The Spectacular Spider-Man and The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, each lasted two seasons before getting the axe, and their absence is still felt in the cartoon world. While DisneyXD wasted no time in releasing the Spidey replacement, Ultimate Spider-Man, it was lacking any real heart and was clearly aimed at a younger audience. It’s currently in its second season, with no real improvement.

New ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Trailer! More on the Team, Agent Coulson, and Just Who is the Hooded Hero J. August Richards is Playing?

It seems like Marvel Studios can do no wrong (depending on how you feel about Iron Man 3) with the latest trailer released for the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series on ABC. We also learned recently that ABC will be airing the show as part of their Tuesday evening line-up, which is pretty terrible right now. Hopefully it won’t hurt the show prematurely, but certainly gives ABC fans something to look forward to on Tuesdays. Enough talk, let’s check out this trailer.
