Scream Factory Releasing Friday The 13th Complete Definitive Box Set

Just in time for the original film’s 40th anniversary, Scream Factory is releasing a massive definitive 16-disc collection Blu-ray collection of one of the most influential horror franchises ever.

This will include all 12 original Friday the 13th films from Paramount Pictures and New Line Cinema. It also includes new and existing extras, a new collectible rigid slipcover with newly-commissioned art, a new 40-page collectible essay booklet with archival still photography and new 4K film transfers for Parts 1-4, with Part 3 in its original 3D presentation. Additionally, each film comes with a dedicated Blu-ray case featuring original theatrical artwork.

Above Suspicion: Emilia Clarke Stars In True-Crime Thriller

The Game of Thrones actress stars in the new film based on Joe Sharkey’s 1993 non-fiction book of the same name, which came from a true story. Now, Australia’s Madman Films has debuted the official international trailer for the new true-crime thriller Above Suspicion, the latest film from the director Phillip Noyce.

Clarke stars as Susan Smith, an impoverished woman, who is living in an Appalachian mountain town in Kentucky. She agrees to be a police informant to make some extra cash, providing information on a local bank robber. When she is matched-up with FBI agent Mark Putnam (Boardwalk Empire‘s Jack Huston), the two become romantically involved. She sees in him her means of escape; instead, it is a ticket to disaster for both of them. This scandal shook the foundations of the nation’s top law enforcement agency, ending in the first-ever conviction of an FBI agent for murder.

Halloween Kills: First Teaser Trailer But Gets Bumped To 2021

David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills was due out later this fall but due to the pandemic, and constant shifting of most movie productions, the film has suffered a fate we were hoping wouldn’t come true.

In a joint statement from David Gordon Green and John Carpenter, the team behind Halloween Kills confirmed that the film will unfortunately have to be postponed by a whole year. Now being released on October 15, 2021. The creators promise that this is to ensure the largest amount of people can enjoy the film together and even go as far to fulfill an IMAX presentation of the new slasher film. It was an inevitability as the pandemic continues to increase in several hot spots around the world, while other places adapt to new social and physical norms and safety measures. It was the right move but it still stings for horror fans.

Candyman Origin Story On Display In Haunting New Shadow Puppet Trailer

Due out later this year, this latest look at Nia DaCosta’s new Candyman film shows us the unsettling past via a haunting puppet show.

Created by Manual Cinema, the shadow puppets re-tell the gruesome scenes that form the Candyman’s lore set to Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe’s score. Director, DaCosta released the video on her Twitter account with the caption: “The people they were, the symbols we turn them into, the monsters we are told they must have been.” Amidst a world of rising-up in protest against police brutality and systemic racism, the short feels as timely as ever.

The Japanese Evil Dead: Gory Knockoff Coming Soon To U.S. Home Video

Wild Eye Releasing has debuted a new trailer for the long lost Japanese horror knockoff film titled officially Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell (or Jigoku No Chimidoro Muscle Builder). Otherwise, unofficially known, as The Japanese Evil Dead.

In the film, which has never before been released in the U.S., a bodybuilder trapped inside a haunted house must save himself from a ghost hell-bent on revenge. After a surprise phone call interrupts his daily workout, beefy bodybuilder Shinji agrees to meet his photojournalist ex-girlfriend to help with her research on haunted houses. Accompanied by a professional psychic, they visit an abandoned house once owned by Shinji’s father. But inside the house, a dark secret lingers and they find themselves trapped and tormented by a relentless ghost with a 30-year grudge.
