About a week or so ago, Comedy Central started doing some promotions for the new Joss Whedon/Drew Goddard collaboration, The Cabin in the Woods. In said promotion, they showed some clips of the film, as well as some intertitles that said something along the lines of: “Five Kids Go To A Cabin”, then the next one said, “Think You Know This Movie?”, while the final one said, “Dead F***ing Wrong”. Before that, I literally couldn’t get away from all the critics writing about how the film revolutionized the horror genre as we know it.

LOOPER Trailer: Time Travel & Self Loathing
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is playing a young Bruce Willis. Wouldn’t have called that one, but if it works, maybe that’s the way they should’ve gone for John McClane Jr…
The movie has already been compared to 12 Monkeys, which, if an apt comparison, basically means it will hurt your head. But in the end, 12 Monkeys was excellent. Looper tells the story of hitman living in the past cleaning up problems the mob sends him by means time travel. That is until they send back an older version of him to be killed. Trippy.
This is something special, it’s called an ‘original idea’ and they assembled quite the cast. Aside from JGL and Willis, they’ve also got the beautiful and ultra talented Emily Blunt, who will no doubt end up the focus of desire for out ill-fated hero. Also seen in the trailer is veteran actor and Michigan Native Jeff Daniels, who has worked with Levitt before in the movie The Lookout. Looper will also feature one of my favorite actors over the last few years – Garret Dillahunt, who I first remember from his role on Deadwood, went on to appear in The 4400, Damages, and Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles. He was also in films like No Country for Old Men, Winter’s Bone, and The Road, and he is now the scene stealing star of Fox’s Raising Hope.

Grizzly Review: Lockout
A few days ago, I posted a nifty little list of five reasons that Lockout might suck, as well as three additional reasons why it wouldn’t. I was very excited to see Lockout in all of its spacial glory (space puns are funny, okay?!). Plus, with Guy Pearce in the lead role, what could go wrong, right? Well, allow me to count the ways.
Japanese Trailer for ‘THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN’
So, sometimes in the haze of all the hype surrounding The Avengers, Marvel is also putting out another movie this year that looks pretty solid – Ghost Rider 2 The Amazing Spider-Man. And I’m not just saying that because Dennis Leary is playing Gwen Stacy’s dad. After the disaster that was Spiderman 3, I’m glad they didn’t wait too long to reboot things and get that taste out of my mouth.
Anyway, much like with The Avengers, the Japanese trailer gives us some previously unseen footage, and had got me a bit more pumped for that movie than I was yesterday. Anyhow, without further ado, here it is…

The Walking Dead: Updates!
In an interview with Assignment X, writer/producer/creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman said that season 3 is “going to be awesome” – real shocker there. Showrunner Glen Mazzara tweeted that Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene) has been upgraded to a regular character on the show! This by no means ensures her survival, but we’ll see how valuable she is to the group. Lord knows they need some chicks in the group who are worth a damn. And I bet Steven Yeun is happy…
New York Magazine recently asked the question which AMC drama’s kid has the worst parents? When evaluating Carl Grimes, they said this: “The minute there’s not enough attention paid to Carl, someone ends up dead.” We have said this in many different reviews of ours. We’ve begged the questions “Where the hell are his parents? Does Carl even have a room? Why won’t Carl stop stealing guns and taunting walkers?” I think that it is safe to say, Lori and Rick are not parents of the year. [Editor’s Note – I gotta throw a vote for Betty Draper in there for worst mother…]
Donald Glover Cast in ’30 Rock’ Live Episode
As you all know we follow the career of Donald Glover quite closely here on Grizzly Bomb. Why? Because he’s awesome. That’s not a good enough reason? Watch any episode of Community or check out Grizzly Spotlight for even more reasons that you can’t deny. I don’t know if I would call my love of Glover a man-crush, or a deep seated respect for humor, comedy, and sick beatz. It may just be a man-crush.
Anyways, we are here for a reason. It was recently announced that Donald Glover has been cast in the next live episode of 30 Rock, playing a young Tracy Jordan (Morgan). Here’s a bit more on the upcoming episode from TVLine:
