GAME OF THRONES: 6 Clips from the Upcoming Season 2…

This Sunday will mark the much-anticipated return of HBO’s smash hit Game of Thrones. In preparation for the event, they have released 6 short clips from the upcoming sophomore season to further wet our appetites.

This is not one of them…

SEASON 1 SPOILER…

Yeah! Eat a bag of dicks Joffery!  Everyone feel better now?

Ok, on to the actual stuff…

CLIP 1: We start with Daenerys Targaryen and her Dragons. What this tells us is, if anyone was expecting to see full grown flying bringers of Fiery Death in Season 2, they’re gonna likely be disappointed. Looks like it’ll be a while before these things are waging war on the Crown.

CLIP 2: Ahh, King Joffery gets once again verbally bitchslapped by his  impossibly awesome Uncle. We also see Sansa Stark none to pleased to be holding the seat she once coveted, nex to the Boy King.

Stephen King’s “Carrie” Remake Finds it’s Lead

And so we just keep rolling down Remake Road. This time the Brian De Palma masterpiece needs for some reason to be redone. Much like the new Total Recall, this seems to be another movie no one was asking for. Now, most likely what will decide if it’s watchable or not will be who they cast as the infamous Carrie White.

The remake of the 1976 film based on the Stephen King novel “Carrie” will be directed by Kim Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry). The casting was full of up-and-coming possibilities. The list of  ladies who have read for the role of Carrie White are as follows: Haley Bennett (Marley & Me), Dakota Fanning (Man on Fire), Emily Browning (Sucker Punch), Bella Heathcote (In Time), Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror), and the winner of this coveted star role: Chloë Moretz. Ms. Mortez is no stranger to the whole remake craze as she was in the updates of The Amityville Horror, The Eye, Let Me In, and the upcoming Dark Shadows. She is also building up quite the impressive geek-resume outside the remake game with movies like Kick-Ass, (500) Days of Summer, and a reoccurring role as Jack Donaghy’s nemesis Kaylie Hooper on 30 Rock.

Chloë has said she is a big fan of Kim Peirce’s work. The 1976 adaptation of Carrie is going to be tough to follow. Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie were both nominated for Oscars for their part in the film. According to Vulture, Peirce has approached Julianne Moore and Jodie Foster about the movie, both of whom are past Oscar winners.

The remake is said to be releasing some time in 2013. No word yet on if John Travolta will reprise his role as ‘Asshole High Schooler’…

First Look at The CW’s ‘Arrow’

Are you part of the crowd that just doesn’t know what to do with themselves now that Smallville is over? I’m talking to you Darth Saeris! Anyway, don’t fret, because CW has green-lit a pilot for a series based on Green Arrow cleverly titled Arrow! Only, it’s not the Green Arrow you are used to. Justin Hartley played Oliver Queen for pretty much the last half of Smallville, and I think he did a pretty good job. But that doesn’t matter, because this series has nothing to do with that Oliver Queen.

Now before I get into the show I just want to say; I love Green Arrow. Such a great character that is wholly unique in his perspective on the world. Not afraid to speak his mind and fight for what’s right, this hard nosed left-winger with a desire to fight for the underprivileged of society stood out in comics and has continued to do so for decades.

Logical predictions for ‘John Cena vs. The Rock’ at Wrestlemania 28

Here’s the truth – I was content just sitting back until Wrestlemania and seeing what happens in the much anticipated main event clash between John Cena and the Rock. However, I can only read so many articles where a writer shoves his biased, bullshit, illogical opinion down my throat until I finally have to speak up. Here’s the deal Bleacher Report, I get it, you all like the Rock, and furthermore, you all seem to be convinced that John Cena is going to turn heel after or during his match at Wrestlemania, but you never seem to offer a valid explanation as to why. So right now, I’m going to take time out of my day to tell you all exactly why it’s not going to happen!

Over the past six years, the WWE has pushed John Cena as the face of the company. From make-a-wish trips, to anti-bullying campaigns, to representing the WWE at major sporting events, John Cena has done it all for the company. Let me ask you something, after years of investing all of this effort into John Cena being the man to respectfully represent the company, why in the Hell would they turn him heel? Who would the WWE send to anti-bullying campaigns?? The bad guy in the company?? I don’t think so! There is more to John Cena’s character than just his contribution to a storyline. I’ve been hearing about this John Cena heel turn for years, and low and behold it has not happened!

Not only would a John Cena heel turn be about the phoniest heel turn since good ole’ JR, but it would be extremely bad for business. Look into any crowd, on any given Monday Night Raw and you’ll see thousands of children pack the arena decked out in John Cena gear. John Cena has become an idol to the younger viewers with his superman like physique and his “never say die,” mentallity. Should John Cena turn heel, whose merchandise are these young fans buying?? That’s right, nobody’s, because nobody’s character appeals to younger fans the way Cena’s does. A Cena heel turn would not only kill merchandise sales, but also lose viewers. The move would be all around bad for business, and I think the WWE knows this!

Although I heavily knock this prediction, I will say that I wouldn’t ever rule the possibility out completely. It would not be the first time that the WWE has made a bad character decision, I just find it to be nearly impossible at this point.
